Located in the bed of the Durance, on the municipalities of Curbans and La, this artificial lake was bottled in 1975 by EDF. The water plan is also fed by the water from the leak canal of the electricity production plant which flows into upstream. A 17-metre dam, used to regulate the waters of the Sisteron canal, was built downstream. You can stay in one of the two campsites on the East Bank, on the side of Cubans. Fishing is permitted in certain sectors (see conditions), like canoeing and bathing. Côté la Saulce, its west bank, consists of a relatively steep land dike. During migration in April-May and August-September, many naturist settled and observed birds with long views. The north bank has a relatively quiet plateau.

A large, modern and complete aquatic center, the Briançon water sports center offers its users infrastructures adapted to sports and leisure activities. It is equipped with 2 sports pools of 25 m (indoor and outdoor), an indoor balneo pool with recreational facilities (jets, slides, counter-current river), an outdoor recreational pool and a well-being area. Activities are offered all year round according to a dedicated schedule: aquabiking, aquagym or swimming lessons for all levels for children and adults.

The inter-communal swimming pool is family oriented and welcomes occasional and regular swimmers all year round in a 25 m covered pool. It also offers the possibility to swim in the open air in its outdoor pool, to slide down its water slide in the open air and to enjoy the surrounding green spaces. All year round, a team of lifeguards supervise swimming lessons (initiation and improvement), help fight against aquaphobia (fear of water) and lead aqua gym and aquapalms sessions.

The Fontreyne water sports stadium is a space accessible to all, dedicated to sports and leisure activities. It is composed of two indoor pools, the first one of 15 m and a depth increasing from 0,60 m to 1,50 m, and the second one of 25 m, with a depth from 2 m to 3,40 m. Free swimming, laps, training, games in the water... are all possible in these places. A schedule also allows you to take swimming lessons to improve your swimming. On Wednesday mornings, playful workshops are organized for children in the small pool.
