TRAMWAY

Getting around by streetcar

Since December 2017, Aarhus is the first Danish city to have a tram or light rail, as it is called. This tram is intended to expand, to connect Aarhus to many surrounding cities and to relieve the bus network. For the time being, the tram reuses two existing railway tracks - Odderbanen and Grenaabanen - into an electric track. It connects these tracks with an additional track running from Lystrup to Skejby, Randersvej, the nearby port areas and Aarhus Central Station. Its speed is 100 km/h once outside the city.
