Read moreThe first Romanian city to have a tramway, Timișoara can also boast of being the first (and for the moment the only) city in the country to have river shuttles. The public transport company RATT has introduced vaporettos that run along the Bega River between Sfânta Maria Square and Mihai Viteazu Bridge in the west of the city, in the Fabric district. On weekends, the ride is free! The 25-minute walk takes you from the Orthodox Cathedral to the Children's Park and back again. The vaporettos do not operate in winter.
