In order to thank the care workers and related professions for being on the front line to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mayenne department has earmarked a budget of 100,000 euros to finance stays in the territory as part of the departmental emergency plan. More than 200 gift vouchers will be put into play as part of a thunderstorm among the registered carers. The Communities of Communes are also considering making a budget available to purchase stays, as well as offering stays in accommodation managed by them. Other professionals will offer free stays. The ultimate aim is to be able to offer 300 stays worth €500. The winners will be able to stay in Mayenne with their families from July to December and will be welcomed as true VIPs. A nice way of rewarding carers and boosting the tourism sector, which has been strongly impacted by the health crisis. More information and registration on the Mayenne Tourisme website
