Read moreAs the birthplace of Jean Jaurès, Castres was duty-bound to pay tribute to him. Initially created in 1954 at the town hall, the national center has occupied a space of its own since 1988. Inaugurated by François Mitterrand, it pays homage to the illustrious tribune, with a museographic trail retracing the major sequences of his life, and a display of manuscripts, books and other iconographic documents relating to the man and to history from the late 19th to the early 20th century.

It includes a 200-seat auditorium and cinema, a media library, a photographic space and a branch of the Conservatoire. So you can come to watch a film, borrow a book, see an exhibition, or simply ask for information on the places to discover in Labruguière. A must if you're visiting the area.
