Founded in 1856 on the factory road leading up to the Pic de Nore, the town once boasted 300 specialized businesses. The leather industry has suffered a severe decline over the last century. But La Laquière survives thanks to quality work and ancestral know-how. Clothes are made in the workshop adjoining the boutique, where a dozen seamstresses are hard at work.
