Poterie Friedmann has been in existence since 1802. The family is therefore Soufflenheim's oldest traditional potter. Today, the seventh generation has succeeded in preserving tradition while modernizing production. These objects are made from pure Soufflenheim clay, which withstands high temperatures. The beautiful round daubières can withstand gas. Decoration is carried out using the barolet, a small earthen vessel with a hollowed-out quill containing the colored engobes. You can visit the workshop any day of the week.

This shop specialising in traditional Alsatian pottery has existed since 1860 and perpetuates the concept of offering a wide range of high quality objects. Sylvie and Kathia Lehmann, coming from a line of potters since 1888, have taken over the shop and thus preserve their family heritage. Culinary or decorative pottery, you will have the choice and for all budgets. Everything here is handmade in Soufflenheim and, if the family also evolves with the times, you will still find the most traditional pottery.

Françoise and Jean-François Plüss have been working with clay for some forty years. In ceramics, porcelain, stoneware or raku, their work is highly original. Their works are unique, contemporary in spirit and inspired by nature. They use several types of clay: stoneware, chamotte or not, white or darker, porcelain. Turning produces utilitarian objects such as bowls, teapots, vases and boxes. Modelling creates bowls, sculptures, faces, animals and other creative objects.

Simone invites you into her world of lamps, little hearts in kelsch (a linen fabric with small blue or red checks, typical of Alsace), as well as pottery, cushions, soaps, lace, ribbons, tablecloths... On the shelves are jars of jam and fruit drinks. Some of the creations are Simone's own, but she also makes room for local artisans. It's a beautiful place, a little out of time, where there's plenty to discover, all the more so if you complete your visit with a visit to the small museum.

The originality of this craftsman's shop is linked to its layout in the courtyard of this farmhouse, converted into a workshop-exhibition. You will find beautiful gift ideas: beautiful pottery of all shapes, ceramics on different themes with pretty colours, original jewellery, classic and Alsatian decoration. And a large choice of home-made jams and chocolates. At the workshop, Christiane Meder-Come, potter-ceramist, is constantly creating new models. And in the kitchen, the chocolate maker Francis Come creates delicious sweets.

Dominique and Christian have their workshop in the Maison des Païens, a Renaissance house perched on a rocky promontory. Here, under the Atelier de la Forêt brand name and using unique materials (full-grain leathers, wenge and alisier woods, etc.), they produce beautiful bags, briefcases, computer cases and other small leather goods (office accessories). Vincent Remmy and his wife create numerous objects in agniceramics. You'll be amazed by the diversity of their designs, both in texture and color. Copper-fired for a mordanted look, wood-fired on polished clays similar to onyx, or fast-fired for raku, whose reddish tones are truly atypical. Christmas cribs and figures, exhibited in the workshop at the end of the year, are available for sale. You can also visit their workshop-showroom and ask for customized creations.

From a long line of potters, Richard Hausswirth settled in Soufflenheim in 1979. It's here that you'll find his workshop and store, full of glazed terracotta objects made on site.
