Concert halls Vosges

Since 1895… this date does not refer to a famous advertising for chocolate but to the creation, on the initiative of writer Maurice Pottecher, of the theatre of Bussang. The effect is similar: equally well founded!

Every summer except in times of war, shows were presented and were a feast for everyone's taste. The stage at the bottom of a barn, enlarged as it surrounds boxes and kitchen, has preserved the pioneer spirit of benches arranged in a simple way to "feed the people of the people" according to the wishes of its founder. Pierre Bein, the current director of the theatre, has in his hands a jewel and nuggets, young talent, amateur actors often trained by professionals for whom the experience of staging in Bussang remains etched. Here the pieces written by Molière, Hugo, Gogol, Renard, Shakespeare and many others have been played. The spectators are on schedule. It even seems that some have been coming for generations. Last winter, there was a mountain story, the Henry and Vincendon case in winter 1956 and conducted the tour of Christmas markets with a 12 minutes room for "average Western"!

Previously located in the heart of downtown, the Palace Cines are since 2011 located in a state-of-the-art complex. The cinema is located on rue Saint-Michel, opposite the library. The program is eclectic and will delight lovers of comedies as well as thrillers. About twenty films are shown each week. The spectators can take advantage of the theaters equipped with 3D and 4K technology, which allows a total immersion. The eight air-conditioned rooms can accommodate nearly 1,600 people. We know the Theatre of the People of Bussang, but we know less the Verdure de Verdure. If both have similarities, their stories are quite distinct. At the beginning of the century, the village teacher, Aimé Dodin, had the idea of building this wooden building for his students, so that they could enjoy the good air of the mountain. At the time when tuberculosis was still raging, it was far from being a fool. In 1985, a village association, or rather a group of good friends, decided to rebuild this building that had been destroyed. With a paved scene and stands for up to 600 people, a new cultural site was created. In 1997, there was also the first amateur theatre festival. This is also a place for relaxation, including a children's square, games… A living place of culture.

After a long winter, Spinaliens love to get together in the streets of the town center to celebrate the return of fine weather. Every summer, free concerts and shows are offered to the public. For the little ones, there are burlesque shows (mime, clown, singer) every Wednesday afternoon at 3pm in the Parc du Château. As for adults, head for the emblematic Place des Vosges, where a concert takes place every Friday evening. A wonderful initiative that deserves to be highlighted!

The city of Epinal does not hesitate to promote many cultural events, and in particular through its municipal theater. With a capacity of 330 seats, this theater is built in the purest rococo style. A prestigious building in the heart of downtown, a few steps from the covered market. Built in 1806 according to the plans of the architect Grillot (architect of the Epinal courthouse) in collaboration with Navière, engineer of the Ponts et Chaussées, the place has preserved an atmosphere of the period where many troupes perform.
