In the centre of the village of Prince Albert, we like the kindly crazy side of this famous restaurant where the shady owners propose regional specialities around the fetish sheep of the Karoo, always perfectly cooked. For dinner, the atmosphere is subdued at the Karoo Kombuis with candles on each table set on its red-checked tablecloth. Everything on the plate is homemade and served generously, just like at grandma's house. You will always find some vegetarian options à la carte for non-carnivores.

A good table that takes us to discover the many gastronomic treasures of the Karoo. In a large house with many elegant and romantic tables, and in a pretty patio and garden in front or behind, a few pleasant tables where you can have lunch under a ray of sunshine. A la carte ostrich meat of course, but also perfectly cooked lamb, beef and antelope (venison) accompanied by tasty sauces, all accompanied by a good local wine. An authentic Portuguese restaurant in the main street of Calitzdorp. Okay, it's not the most local you can find, but the Mediterranean cuisine is a delight and the room is very pleasant with its azulejos on the wall and red brick arches. The atmosphere is friendly in this pretty house, the tables are set as at home with blue and white check tablecloths. On the plates: grilled fish and prawns, shrimp with garlic cream, seafood curry, and even beautiful cheese platters.
