FLOWER LINE

Culture

Springbok, located in the Northern Cape province, is world-famous as the flower capital of Namaqualand and is a perfect stop-off point on the main N7 route between Cape Town and Namibia. The town lies in a narrow valley between the towering granite domes of the Klein Koperberge, locally known as "klipkoppe". Founded in 1862, Springbok grew up around a small hill in the middle of the narrow valley and became the center of communication, administration, education and commerce in the mining region. The town's attractions include the Blue Mine, the Goegap Nature Reserve, the Dutch Reformed Church, the Namaqualand Museum and the Jewish synagogue-turned-museum. Visitors can also enjoy hiking trails, 4x4 routes and wildflower gardens. With its ideal geographical location, Springbok is a must for travelers to Namibia and Cape Town.
