Located on one of the largest wild beaches in Sainte-Marie, north-east of the island, this somewhat isolated structure is rare tranquility. The comfortable bungalows and spacious villas are built on a large dune, offering a superb panorama on the sunrise. Small straw with sunbeds on the beach, restaurant-bar and shop downstairs, well sheltered from the wind. Numerous activities and excursions (Ampahiny bay in canoe, lobster picnic, quad on sand…). We also appreciate the very beautiful discovery of the north of the island, still wild and authentic or in the near forest. Hélène and Maurizio have the sense of hospitality and are always available and concerned about your well-being.

8 bungalows a little set back from the beach, in traditional materials, of good size. Solar electricity, hot water being installed. Common sanitary facilities in good condition. We never tire of enjoying cocktails at the bar, surrounded by vegetation, in the company of lemurs in the wild who come to frolic enthusiastically (when the TV doesn't spoil the moment). At the restaurant: parrot fillet, red rice and other Combava flavors come directly from the island of Mats. All kinds of excursions and activities are offered.

From the outset, the owner chose to set up in the heart of the village of Ravoraha, in order to participate in village life, with which the lodge enjoys a very good relationship. School fees for all the village's primary school children are paid by the ecolodge. An excellent address for solidarity and responsibility. The establishment was on sale at the time of our visit.

L'Idylle Beach offers two types of rooms with ocean view and village view. A "comfort and charm" address, clean, with quality bedding and careful decoration. The two rooms facing the street are well soundproofed. One room has a balcony to enjoy the village life. The owners are very attentive and have thought of everything. The two other rooms overlooking the lagoon can accommodate three people. The view is breathtaking. A good address.

In a lagoon-side coconut grove, 20 villas built from natural materials. Infinity pool, beach, wine cellar, 3 bars, rum cellar and spa, whose concept, architecture and decor we adore. Vegetarian dishes from the kitchen garden are on the menu every day. Feels just like home. Organization of all kinds of activities. On-site motorized outrigger canoe to the Islet aux Sables. A superb address, undoubtedly the most glamorous on the island.

A guest house with a colonial charm, with eight suites, two bedrooms, a refined restaurant, a bar-lounge and pleasant common spaces with elegant décor— Beautiful living room filled with antiques. Ideally located in a large park on the beach, we admire the whale ball in season. The rooms combine antique furniture with traditional Malagasy materials. Each has private health, desk, safe, minibar and mosquito bed, as well as a large terrace. The restaurant, with its varangue facing the sea, its white tablecloths and impeccable service, is very pleasant. Besides, meals are very good. Our guests, Catherine and Bertrand, are attentive and available. We're going back into friends. Massage area facing the sea. The beautiful swimming pool and the wide range of activities and excursions crowned the whole, the hotel has its own boat. A beautiful address, renovated in 2017, and excellent value for money.

A most picturesque location, as evidenced by this bungalow for 4, built in the trees (the previous two were ravaged by fire in 2018), original, fully equipped for maximum comfort and truly magical. The whole thing exudes traditional materials in a very local atmosphere. An excellent welcome from the little family of Véro and Mathias, nicknamed here "Tarzan"... you'll soon understand why. Not for the faint-hearted! Land and sea excursions to be organized on site, weather permitting.

Away from the main street, in a picturesque setting, here is a good address for small budgets. Bungalows are clean and even charming! At this price, hard to find better. Think about reserving, there is often the world. And don't forget to taste Paul's home rum, the boss!

The lodge is nestled in a small cove. Good value for money for this recent establishment. Friendly staff. The 10 bungalows in restanques to the sea offer a magnificent view. Some have a kitchen. On the private beach you will have the possibility to contemplate the bridal parade of humpback whales in season (June to September). The coral underwater funds in front of the lodge are full of colorful parrot fish, clown fish, torpedoes, groupers and sergeants. The lodge offers you the PMT equipment, it also organizes your day or half-day scuba diving (baptisms or confirmed). Possibility to book packages of dives. And a day at Ile aux Mats by boat (on-site lunch). They are also able to organise an excursion to the east of the island + settlement visits + crossing the mangrove in canoe and walk on the beach of ampanihy. Day in 4 x 4 north. Light day drive to Ile aux Mats through the pirate cemetery and the botanico park.

The whole is suitable and satisfies a clientele routarde who appreciates its situation, on the lagoon, its cleanliness and its (relative) amenities.

Analatsara is a place where people can meet and exchange ideas, while respecting each other's tranquillity and the environment. All the units are different: the largest can accommodate 6 people in 3 independent bedrooms. Two others also have a veranda or terrace: one, original and poetic, is even set in the trees! Private bathrooms except in the "Lagon" bungalow. Jean-Pierre offers a convivial table d'hôte formula - a real treat! Weekly folklore evenings. Wifi, solar electricity 24 hours a day.

Since 2009 this address boasts an idyllic situation, on a beautiful beach of fine sand (probably one of the most beautiful of the island), here no urchins, corals or vase, but sand! Gilles and Fabiola receive you in the heart of a natural park of 6 hectares between sea and primary forest. Despite the new asphalted road, there is a tranquil tranquility, breathtaking landscapes, and the stage will be used to embark on beautiful walks in the surroundings (in quad or on foot for example). The large interior bar is superb and the quality kitchen is fresh and sought-after. The eight semi-hard bungalows are comfortable, well kept and delicately laid facing the sea, on a coconut beach, sufficiently far away from each other to keep privacy (green space between bungalows). The right side of the beach looks like Seychelles! Among the structures a perfect bungalow for families. Hot water, solar electricity 24 h/24, and two original exterior showers (pirogue repo). During an excursion from the south of the island, it is pleasant to enjoy lunch on the outdoor terrace while at the same time enjoying the water jet of the whales (in season). All traditional activities and visits are offered. Gilles takes you aboard his boat, even to the largest bay in Madagascar, the bay of Antongil, count 1.30 a. m., possible from October to January (if no cyclones), good franquette, rigolade, fishing and swimming in the program!

Bungalows that surround a garden (or green space) well kept, on the edge of the water. Jovial and smiling home, at least when the owners are there. Very good meal and a set that keeps the road.

The bungalows are very nice, with en suite bathrooms, TV and good bedding. The site lacks charm or brightness, but the whole remains excellent value for money. The kitchen is rich and tasty: probably also one of the best tables on the island, at the right price. Welcome to Benoît and Chantal, when they are there. An address to remember.
