The Senart marathon is now part of the French marathon landscape. The Paris region race is celebrating its 16th anniversary this year. It proposes to all participants and inhabitants of Sénart, to join a festive meeting around running. Several races are possible, for a maximum of 1800 participants

Practical information

date: the 16th edition of the Senart Marathon will be organized on May 1st, 2015. A date to remember, always very pleasant to run.

registration date: registrations are still possible until the day before the race depending on the number of participants. Please note that the registration fee increases significantly as of April 1st.

maximum number of participants: 1,800; between 1,200 and 1,600 runners take part in the race each year. The Senart Marathon has become, in just a few years, a race of great magnitude, with 1,253 finishers in 2014. A phenomenon due in particular to its proximity to Paris but also to the quality of the race and the various services offered by the organisers and volunteers.

rate: marathon: 36 € (46 € from 1 April 2015) Job applicant (proof to be provided): 14 €. FFA Clubs (from 5 runners) : 26 € (36 € from April 1st 2015)

registration: registration can be done by mail to the organization or online on the event site. For all registrations on the Internet, the organizers specify that the various costs related to bank transactions are their responsibility. An argument that is intended to encourage applications through this means.

other races: in Sénart, runners can also take part in the Sénartaise, a 10 km race, a Nordic walk or run the marathon in a relay. It seems that the weekend of May 1st is quite quiet in the world of marathons.

The course

interest: the course will allow runners to discover dozens of communes in the Sénart region. They will leave the town hall of Tigery to join the aptly named Alain Mimoun stadium in Combs-la-Ville. The race proposes an alternation of passages in the city and in the plain with, also a part along the forest of Sénart towards the end of the marathon.

difficulty: the course is rather flat and rolling between town and countryside. There is only one difficulty to report on the Réau plain where the straight line of about 3 km can sometimes be subject to strong winds.

elevation gain: the race includes 41 metres of positive elevation gain, 72 metres of negative elevation gain. It is a marathon accessible to all and conducive to performance for the most seasoned runners.

temperature: at this time of the year, temperatures can be very pleasant on the Sénart side, they usually vary between 9°C and 18°C. However, be sure to check the weather forecast before you leave
