Briare is home to a boutique specializing in quality spirits of all categories. It's fair to say that at Cave Loire & Millésimes, the love of the trade is deeply rooted. When the heart is sincere, the response from customers is just as sincere, and grands crus rub shoulders with vins de pays and from other regions of France and many other countries. Likewise, the variety of selected whiskies and rums opens up worlds of liquid flavours during a skilfully orchestrated tasting: a must-discover!

Small appellations are often fortunate enough to be among the best. At the Concours Général de Paris at the end of February 2024, Dominique Billereau was awarded a Silver Medal for his white 2023 vintage. Since 1982, in Ousson-sur-Loire, this seasoned winemaker has been practicing all aspects of viticulture. He has even built a delightful vaulted cellar for these tricolored nectars to rest in. This exemplary, vine-loving owner-grower has won several top prizes in wine competitions. An oenological visit is a must!

From now on, the Ange Vins Cave merges with the restaurant Ver di Vin! It is well understood that these two emanations operate in the celestial, as well as the wine from here and in what bottles! It is good to say that Sabine Brochard is a sommelier of high standing and beautiful flight. Having studied at the Tour d'Argent and at Guy Savoy, she offers us wine rarities from the Loire, Alsace, Burgundy... only the best. Pure malt whisky or port wine are also waiting on the shelf. The estate's reputation has been growing ever since the Orléans Cléry and Orléans AOCs were awarded in 2006, the fruit of a battle waged for many years by the winegrowers of the Orléans region. They are thus the youngest in France. The Montigny-Piel family, present in the commune for four generations, will share with you their passion for the work of the vine. In the small Daniel Montigny museum, you'll discover over 2,000 tools of the trade: barrels, wine pumps, harrows, old ploughs and more.

Working locally to make beer in the Loiret is a challenge. The Brasserie des Écluses is keeping up the good work! The Blonde, the Amber, the Brown, the White and finally the Pils are born progressively and all in a well anchored style. Without forgetting the Vitry Hole, a beer with Olivet pear brandy: a whole gustatory program. The monastery of Notre-Dame de Bouzy-la-Forêt, a stone's throw from the better-known Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire, is occupied by Benedictine nuns. They continue the tradition of producing "Eau d'Émeraude", a recipe dating back to the ^17th century. This green aquosity is said to be beneficial for the skin and digestion. An icon workshop is run by Professor Georges Dobrot. The monastic guesthouse has 12 rooms for anyone wishing to experience silence.

Hand-picked, 3 hectares of vines, one of which is devoted to 100% Sauvignon Blanc and the other two to red (20% Gamay Noir with white juice and 80% Pinot Noir): Florian Roblin enchants the slopes of the Giennois on white and flinty clay soils. Everything is homemade and nothing is imported to accommodate the result. Rare... Only half an hour for the visit and the singing of the wine that takes you away. You will be eager to taste its generous production that stands out. Without forgetting that the Giennois hillsides have been AOC for more than sixty years.

In the world of wine, the Guérot family has carved out a place for itself since 1730. The 4 hectare estate, overlooking the village of l'Etang, is of a clay-limestone nature and produces red, white and rosé Coteaux-du-Giennois, as well as a white and rosé Champagne method. The father and son Guérot, who take great care of their vines, produce a soft white wine, slightly sweet, which goes very well with foie gras and desserts. They are all listed as AOC and the domain is a partner of Vignobles & Découvertes.
