For more than 100 years, Institut de Touraine has welcomed more than 2,500 students from all over the world each year to take French courses in a beautiful downtown building. It also provides training for teachers of French as a foreign language. Is its success due to the idea that French is spoken in Touraine "without an accent"? (a mirage for real linguists!). In any case, the Institute is working seriously: a member of the Groupement FLE, it has a convention with the University of Tours. The courses are adapted to the level and the objectives of each one, with a personalized follow-up. The place delivers diplomas like the DELF, the DALF or the TCF.

With seven sites throughout the city of Tours (and even in Blois) and around 30,000 students, the University of Tours is one of the largest in the region. Each site has its own speciality: literature, languages and human sciences at the famous fac des Tanneurs, on the banks of the Loire, the IUT at Tours Nord, medicine near the Botanique, sciences at Grammont, Polytech', the IAE, law and social sciences at Deux-Lions.... With over 34 research laboratories, it is the leading public research institution in the Centre region. As such, the university attracts a large number of foreign students and lecturers. Students' well-being is at the heart of our concerns. The Passeport Culturel program, which gives students reduced-price access to shows in Touraine, and the rich and varied program at the Salle Thélème, as well as a host of associations and various forms of assistance, all ensure that students enjoy a high quality of life. In other words, with its university and its population, Tours is a young and dynamic city!

Tailor-made English courses for individuals or groups of 3 or 4 people. For individuals as well as professionals, English-sur-Loire offers various formulas, adapted to the level and wishes of each person... and you can start whenever you want, with courses financed by the CPF if needed. The course is progressive, with an original and dynamic method. During the vacations, the small school proposes training courses, to combine the useful with the pleasant. The team also takes advantage of Facebook and Twitter to publish articles in English and some interesting news, to complete the linguistic adventure. And you can also learn Spanish and German!

By moving from the Halles district to the area around Place Jean Jaurès, this English school has acquired much more spacious and pleasant premises. An ideal setting for perfecting your knowledge of Shakespeare's language, which is spoken to you as soon as you walk through the door, for a true linguistic immersion. A level test will lead to an offer adapted to your needs and objectives, which can be financed with your CPF. Independent learning via an online platform alternates with small group classes with an English-speaking teacher. Morning coffee and game nights in English are added to the activities. 100% online training is also possible.

The CROUS, or Centre Régional des oeuvres Universitaires et Scolaires, is the reference establishment for all students in the Orleans-Tours academy. Student grants, housing in university residences, university restaurants, but also a cultural service which proposes the Student Cultural Passport (the famous PCE!), or social assistants... If you are a student, with or without a grant, the CROUS offers you its help to improve your living and working conditions. So don't hesitate to browse the website or to push the door to ask for advice without any apprehension. The delays are sometimes long, but it is worth waiting.

You're young and you don't yet know what you want to do in life? Don't worry, you're not alone. The IOC team is here to welcome you and guide you. On site, you have access to a documentation room with a large number of paper tools to help you see more clearly (files, magazines, job descriptions, etc.). But the best thing is to ask to be received by a guidance counsellor-psychologist, free of charge, so that you can feel accompanied, supported and advised. The interviews are confidential. Orientation forums and career conferences are held regularly throughout the year, which makes it possible to go through all the professions in one day.
