The solarium of this pool is quite limited, being confined to the area around the pools. But we particularly appreciate the vast sliding roof, which bathes the space in light, turning it into an open-air pool in fine weather. No greenery here, but don't worry! Surrounded by the towers of the 15th arrondissement, against a backdrop of blue skies, the setting is original. The youthful, friendly atmosphere also attracts sports enthusiasts. The large pool is Olympic-sized: 50 metres long, by 15 metres. A second 15-meter pool is available for younger children.

Natural light and lush vegetation give this basin a tropical look. Located in the heart of the Halles, this pool offers an ideal training ground for those who wish to swim in the wake of the older ones. Be careful, however, the basin is shallow (1.80 m). On the other hand, it is one of the few basins in the capital with a length of 50 m. There is a lot of people, especially at lunchtime on weekdays. This swimming pool is one of the few in the city of Paris without slots reserved for schoolchildren. So you can enjoy it all day long.

Built on several floors in balconies in the 1930 s, the Blomet swimming pool is organised according to a common plan in Paris… and charming. If the rooms have been moved into a more convenient area, the cabins on the floors are reserved for visitors, with a superb view over the 50 x 12 m pool. This pool attracts the best swimmers. According to custom, swimmers are divided into the water lines according to their level, to prevent the aisles and the different swimmers from creating a traffic jam! It is possible to take swimming courses for beginners who will become, who knows, great champions. Many clubs get involved, attracted by the measurements of this basin, rare in Paris. However, this swimming pool is the victim of its success and has a very sustained attendance whatever day and time!

PISCINE DE LA BUTTE-AUX-CAILLES

Swimming pools
3.8/5
27 reviews

Built in 1925, the facility is based on a hot spring discovered in 1866 and still in use today. After the creation of a shower bath in 1908, the swimming pool opened its doors in 1924. Today, it attracts a clientele of regulars who enjoy swimming in warm water at 28°C, as much as the 1930s style of the facility. The outdoor pool and solarium are a major attraction in the early summer months. The red brick facade and the imposing vaulted ceiling of the indoor pool are well worth a look. The Butte aux Cailles swimming pool is one of several in Paris listed as Historic Monuments, like the Amiraux in the 18th arrondissement. Swimming lessons, gym-fitness, aquagym and aqua-jogging are all on offer. A few years ago, the Butte-aux-Cailles swimming pool underwent a major renovation: the pool was refurbished, the water was treated in an environmentally-friendly way, the air was better treated, the pool was given a new public area, the heritage was enhanced, the pool was brought up to technical standards, and safety and accessibility were improved. All of which will restore a lustre that many had never known before. After all, to come here is not just to swim and work out, but also to discover the capital's unique heritage. Be warned: crowds can be heavy, especially at weekends.

This swimming pool may not have the charm of Parisian film Frames, wrought iron balconies and enamelled tiles. He does not stop. Cleverly located in the basement of the Commercial shopping centre, it has the advantage of being located in the heart of Paris, just steps from Luxembourg and Saint-Germain des Prés. The 25 metre basin is visible from the entrance gate, which allows estimates of the number of swimmers: more than reasonable in general, which does nothing. The water is very clean, quiet acoustics and peaceful pastel tones. The Bubbler area also offers a small, pleasant pool for children. The sports centre that houses the swimming pool also has a gym, so it is very easy to bite a head after a little basketball. Finally, in addition to swimming courses, the aquatic space provides gym courses.
