NOX PUB AND EATRY
Read moreTwo small rooms provide the most pleasant setting for dinner. In the storefront, several pots let clients choose their meals. Drinks are fresh thanks to a refrigerator in the room. The toilets can be described as minimalist.
ROSE PLOT
Read moreThere are two restaurants within the Aburi Botanical Garden: the Royal Botanical Garden and the Rose Plot. While the former offers a nice setting, it is not always able to offer what it advertises on the menu. The latter is probably the better value option of the two restaurants. For a handful of cedis you can enjoy a solid omelette, a spaghetti bolognese dish or a typical Ghanaian plate: delicious jolof rice with chicken or the classic and hearty fufu!
LINDA DOR
Read moreOnce through the door, you'll probably get the impression that you're not getting any special treatment. All the waitresses have their eyes glued to the TV showing the latest Ghanaian B-movie. But once you're seated, you'll be pampered. There's nothing special on the menu, unless you've never tried the local cuisine. The Linda Dor is a good place to try the delicious fufu, which is very good here. Don't step too heavily on the floor, though, or you might fall through!
IN-N-OUT CHILLIES
Read moreA long covered room, a kitchen, lined tables and a great atmosphere - that's the setting for this typical Ghanaian restaurant in the 2020s! On the plate, the In-N-Out Chillies serves up plates that couldn't be more hearty. The house specialty? Grilled tilapia (courtesy of the Volta Basin), as well as delicious, melt-in-the-mouth chicken dishes. All served with jollof rice, pasta, French fries and/or vegetables. In short, a good, inexpensive place to treat yourself in Ho. Smart address!
MARITIME CLUB HOUSE
Read moreThe VRA Maritime Club (for Volta River Authority) is located about 4 km from Akosombo, on the Asuogyaman-Atimpoku road that spans the dam. The main asset of this restaurant is its jetty, which allows to reach it by boat, and a nice green space with plants and flowers. We also appreciate the panoramic view on the lake and the rather nice decoration of the service room. On the plate, the fish of the lake are honored: grilled, the famous tilapia (accompanied by an abundant garnish) is a real treat.
