It's a far cry from the glitz and glamour its name suggests, but the Beverly can be an interesting option for a night in transit. Although this charming hotel, with its American motel feel, is in need of a little refreshment, it is centrally located for exploring the capital of the Visayas. The 52 rooms are in their original state, but they are fairly well kept, with air conditioning, wi-fi connection and a functional private bathroom. The Beverly offers good value for money.

Marqis Sunrise Sunset Resort & Spa offers magnificent cottages set in the Cambanac hills, above the village of Baclayon. The traditional atmosphere of the cottages makes for a relaxing and enjoyable stay, and for stress detox, it's the perfect place! If you're a nature lover, this is the resort for you. The restaurant serves excellent food and the infinity pools with sea views are superb.

Close to the ferry terminals to the surrounding islands (20 minutes on foot; 5 minutes by cab), this yellow-fronted hotel is a very convenient address if you have an early boat departure. The rooms are spacious, clean and the bedding is comfortable. The bathroom and shower work well (there's hot water!). A wifi connection that holds up and as a bonus each room has a balcony. The place is a little bit noisy but it remains a simple and efficient address that we validate. Excellent value for money.

This eco-responsible establishment was born of the Filipino owner's passion for his island and his desire to make visitors feel at home, and it succeeds. Every detail of decoration has been carefully considered, from the common rooms to the bathrooms; the floors are made of wood and the whole has the cachet of old colonial houses. It's also an opportunity to discover Boholano handicrafts. What's more, the hotel's beach is magnificent, and the pool is in a splendid setting. The staff take great care of their guests. A very fine address.

The oldest and most popular establishment on the charming beach of Punta Balo. The bungalows, spread out in a beautiful garden, are comfortable although not very modern. They overlook the swimming pool and a restaurant that was renovated during the Covid period and that prepares good food including their best-selling pizza. In the heart of this small resort there is also a diving center with professional and serious instructors. We recommend it.

Renovated a few years ago, it is one of the best hotels in town, with all the modern comforts and a swimming pool as a bonus. It is in any case the one that offers the best standard in Bacolod. The rooms are spacious and the bedding is comfortable. It is possible, upon request, to relax with a massage or a treatment. The breakfast buffet is quite varied. The location is central in the city. It is a good place to stay if you are looking for a western comfort room rather than a more authentic experience.

The Royal Cliff is located a few minutes walk from Tubod beach. It is an unpretentious establishment with five bungalows scattered in a nice garden, all well maintained. The complex overlooks the sea and there is access to a small stretch of beach. The restaurant has a very nice view, we eat Filipino food mainly, simple but good. Calm and relaxation in the program! It is an excellent value for money, considering the location, the view and in premium the kindness of the staff. We recommend it.

Located in the heart of the city, close to the Mactan canal, this large Sugbutel hotel chain establishment will delight budget travellers. For dormitories: you rent a bed, and that's it. The dormitories are air-conditioned, and soap, shampoo and towels are available for a modest extra charge. We like the rooftop penthouse with panoramic views over the city and the simple but well-kept double rooms. It looks like a real hotel, but it's more like a youth hostel.

Opened in 2008, this boutique hotel offers a high level of service regardless of the accommodation option chosen. Almost all rooms have indoor and outdoor bathrooms. The resort has a gourmet restaurant. Lovers will enjoy a romantic room nestled in the trees, with private dining and ocean views. The two large pools have 30 hammocks and a view of the black sand beach. Gym, yoga, mountain bike tours and spa available to guests. The beach barbecues are famous.

Our favorite in Carabao! This six-room hotel on the unspoilt beach of Lanas was designed by David, the English owner who divides his time between Hong Kong and the Philippines. From the moment you set foot in the hotel, you'll feel relaxed and at home. All rooms have sea views. The restaurant, in the cozy veranda upstairs, serves excellent home-cooked food. Otherwise, you can enjoy lunch with your feet in the sand or a cocktail at the bamboo bar. Don't hesitate to book an excursion for a day of adventure!

The Bohol Tropics Resort offers rooms with decent levels of comfort but no particular charm, and the whole complex is a little faded. However, each room has its own small terrace, and the resort has several swimming pools, tennis courts, a souvenir store, massage services and an excellent Chinese restaurant. The usual clientele is local and business. Good value for money and a good address for a transitional night's stay, as it's a fifteen-minute walk from the port.

In an idyllic setting, Eskaya Beach offers splendid villas (ranging from pretty villas for two to impressive 200^m2 villas) combining traditional Filipino style where exotic wood and bamboo reign supreme with rustic-chic design and maximum comfort. Absolute luxury: each villa has its own private pool, whirlpool and outdoor Balinese shower. To add to the pleasure, an infinity pool overlooking the sea and a private beach! The restaurant offers quality local and international cuisine.

It is without doubt the most pleasant address on the beach. This very original establishment leaves no traveler indifferent. The approach of the very sympathetic and creative owners (including a Frenchwoman) consists in making recovery to decorate the bungalows as the restaurant. The result is amazing, colorful and a bit crazy! The place is well kept, the rooms are clean and you can get your PADI certification with their diving center. Recommended address.

One of Boracay's first hotels, opened over 40 years ago. Roger Deparis (a Frenchman) regrets those blessed days when the beach was virgin (the main road was then a buffalo trail) and there was no electricity. His hotel, located right in the middle of the beach close to all the bars and activities, retains a little of that old-fashioned atmosphere. Restaurant on the beach, rooms upstairs and (more interestingly, because it's quieter) bungalows at the back, in a vast, exuberant garden. The whole is a little dated, but correct.

Part dive center, part hotel, the resort is somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle, to the south of the beach. The atmosphere is tranquil. The whole resort, with its charming swimming pool, seafront restaurant and massage center, is very well kept. It's a family address, and the hosts are particularly attentive and available. Breakfast is good, as are the dishes served in the restaurant, which also boasts a superb view. Ideal for a diving holiday.

Here's a good address, ideally located 500 meters from the beach, offering ten pleasant, well-kept rooms with sea views, plus more recent room-villas to the rear. The rooms are welcoming and charming, with bamboo even in the bed frames. Each room has its own private terrace. To quibble a little, it's a shame there's no swimming pool, but there's an endless natural pool in front, where you can easily spot turtles and sardines.

An excellent address, also located on Bounty Beach. This is a budget-friendly resort offering excellent value for money. The rooms are comfortable, the owners and all the staff are friendly and helpful, and the restaurant offers very good Western-style food (pizzas and burgers). Plus, the large swimming pool. And of course the adjoining diving center, for a turnkey holiday from your hotel. We like it.

The Waterfront is a huge, unassuming structure, but it offers charming services: limousine transportation, swimming pool, whirlpool, health club and spa... it's all there. What's more, it's all enhanced by a charming welcome from the staff. The perfect place to spend a relaxing night while waiting for your flight. In fact, the hotel couldn't be more conveniently located, literally right next to the airport.

A charming hotel, located in the heart of Santa Fe, in a beautiful tropical garden and 200 meters from the dream beaches for which the island is famous. Rooms are comfortable and cozy. Le Coucou also has a restaurant-bar serving carefully prepared dishes. Bikes, motorcycles and boats are available for hire. The hosts, Denis, a French-speaking Belgian, and Riezel, a Filipina, are very welcoming and a real mine of information about the island. Excellent value for money.

The Quo Vadis is a charming, well-maintained establishment in Moalboal, which is also a diving center. It's one of the best value-for-money establishments on the island, both slightly removed from the hustle and bustle and yet very close to the town center. The big plus? Its swimming pool (and pool bar) with sea view, top! The restaurant-bar, with its feet in the sand, is friendly and lively. Most of the rooms are a little old-fashioned but functional. In fact, most of them also offer a lovely sea view.

An upscale hotel very much oriented to diving, like its counterpart in Puerto Galera. It is well maintained, the staff is efficient and friendly, and the rooms are very comfortable, in addition to being well decorated and spread out in a garden on the beach. The restaurant serves exquisite cuisine, the location is idyllic and there are no less than twenty exceptional dive sites in the vicinity. A small paradise where divers will be well taken care of.

One of the island's oldest hotels, it has been located on the edge of White Beach since 1985. In other words, it's had plenty of time to build up a reputation, and the good news is that it's an excellent one! Bans Beach Resort offers simple, well-maintained and fairly comfortable rooms scattered around a pretty communal garden. Despite this, the resort is well located, just a few meters from the beach but in a quiet area. The staff are very helpful, the welcome very friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. Definitely one of the best value for money.

This family-run hotel is conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the Ayala Center and SM City. It offers simple but clean rooms and pleasant common areas. The restaurant is popular and has a friendly atmosphere. Those nostalgic for Western food can come here for fish and chips and advice from Anglo-Saxon expats. The staff could be more accommodating. But it's the excellent value for money and the convenient central location that really stand out.

It's a bit of an island institution, located on the quietest and most pleasant part of the beach, as it houses the very first diving center on the island, which enjoys a very good reputation. The bar-restaurant on the beach is pleasant and the food very good, as is the mini-spa, ideal for relaxing after a day's diving. A cozy place to come for a drink too. The clientele is predominantly Asian. The rooms are simple.

Beautiful hotel, renovated in June 2023 and located on a private beach. It features two lagoon-shaped outdoor pools and two dining areas, including a poolside bar and a restaurant serving cuisine combining local and Asian flavors. The rooms are spacious and sober, the bedding is of excellent quality and the bathrooms are practical and attractive. The advantage? During the day, as guests have left for the main beach, the deckchairs and pools are all yours. Massages and diving are also available. A prestigious address.

For those looking for centrally located accommodation to make the most of Cebu's vibrant attractions, Fuente Pension is the perfect address. This budget hotel is popular for its good value and its location in the heart of Uptown. Nothing ostentatious, but all rooms (from two to six people) are air-conditioned and have a bathroom with hot water. There's a rooftop bar where you can enjoy a drink and a snack. Please note that street-facing rooms can be a little noisy.

The Bellavista Hotel offers beautiful, sunny, clean and generally functional rooms (even if some are a little dated). As an added bonus, the hotel has installed its bar on the roof of the building, offering a magnificent view. Last but not least, there's a health club and a pleasant pool on the fifth floor. The hotel is ideally located just five minutes from the airport, and transfers are included in the package. A very decent 3-star hotel, with good value for money, ideal for a transitional night before a flight.
