A tourist destination in its own right, Rodrigues is nothing like Mauritius except for the kindness of its inhabitants. More isolated and secretive, more authentic and rural, more Catholic and Creole, it has its own landscapes: a succession of valleys and hills dying in a lagoon two and a half times larger than the surface of the island, and dotted with islets like so many robinsonnades. The habitat consists of huts and individual houses scattered among the vegetation and interspersed with market gardens. Domestic animals are kept here - chickens, cows, pigs. The food is fresh and organic in this small corner of the world, which advocates a simple and healthy life in harmony with nature, and where you can practice outdoor activities (cycling, walking) and water sports such as fishing, diving and kitesurfing.
