Although the beach in the center of Grand Baie has been improved (with the creation of a bathing area), bathing is limited by the large number of boats anchored in the bay, and idleness is diminished by the noise of the city, cars and mopeds. We prefer the quiet beach of La Cuvette, visually facing out to sea, partially shaded by filaos, covered in fine sand and blessed with a pleasantly deep lagoon ideal for a good swim in intense turquoise!
