The national airline, created in 1967, has its headquarters in Port Louis and an agency where you can change or buy tickets to go to the countries served directly from the island: France, of course, with several weekly flights thanks to the partnership with Air France, but also 23 other destinations around the world, including in the region, Reunion or Madagascar. Air Mauritius is also the only airline to operate flights between the mother island and the small island of Rodrigues - from 2 to 5 flights per day depending on the season.

There are two in the capital: the one located in the north, Place de l'Immigration, serves the northern and eastern cities; the one in Place Victoria in the south serves the cities of the central plateau as well as the west and the south. Buses run from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the urban area, and a service is provided between Port-Louis and Curepipe in both directions until 11:00 p.m. The locations and cities served are indicated by a sign on the front of each bus. For more comfort, at very low fares, opt for the express buses equipped with air conditioning.

PARKINGS DU CAUDAN

Central and guarded, the Caudan Waterfront is the most convenient place to park. Arriving from the north on the freeway, keep to your lane and drive straight through the town. Pass the Caudan shopping center on the right and the southern bus station on the left. Don't take the overpass, turn left at the Caudan sign and go right under the overpass. Then right again 150 m further on - signposted to the parking lot. When approaching from the south, turn left at the Caudan sign.

Port-Louis, the capital of Mauritius, is a lively, cosmopolitan city with many tourist attractions. The city also boasts beautiful parks and gardens, such as Parc du Pouce and Jardin de la Compagnie. History buffs can visit the Port-Louis Museum and the Blue Penny Museum. In the vicinity of Port-Louis, we recommend a visit to the Pamplemousses Garden and the Eureka House. As for gastronomy, Mauritian cuisine is a blend of Indian, Creole, Chinese and European flavors. Not-to-be-missed dishes include Byriani, Samosas, curry and chutney. Typical drinks include tamarind juice and alouda. Port-Louis also boasts a lively nightlife, with numerous restaurants, cafés, bars and a casino.
