There are five Nordic Walking Parks in Luxembourg with more than 18 trails of different levels, three in the Ardennes, one in the Mullerthal Region and one in the Luxembourg Moselle. Maps of the routes are available from the tourist offices concerned. Please note that the Mullerthal Region no longer provides signposting for its park since 2016: find out the level of practicability during your visit.

This tour combines nature and the historical and cultural heritage of the region while passing by old industrial, religious and natural sites. It will allow you to discover the Schwaarzenhaff nature reserve, with the former Steinfort iron and steel complex, the Clairefontaine abbey, the dam, the cast-iron bollards, witnesses of the drawing of the border between Belgium and Luxembourg. The circuit uses shaded cycle paths and forest roads.

The bicycle club Les Amis du cyclisme de la commune de Contern (ACCC) was founded in 1976. Among the main events organised each year under its aegis is the Grand-Prix François Faber, the oldest road race in Luxembourg. It was first run in 1918. Or the Charly Gaul ride, a cyclist-sportsman's ride on a hilly course attracting between 500 and 1,000 cyclists, whether simple amateurs or seasoned riders.

CLUB HIVERSPORT LUXEMBOURG PATINAGE DE VITESSE - SHORTTRACK

Skating rink

A discipline dominated in global competition by the Chinese, Canadians, and South Korea, short track (speed skating) is practiced on a circular ice track of 111 metres where athletes reach peak speeds of 50 km/hour. In order to compensate for the centrifugal force, the turns are tilted to the wave of the ice. Skaters play power, agility and tactics to win the race.

Winter fun for half the year! Located on the outskirts of Luxembourg-City, the Kockelscheuer indoor skating rink welcomes the public from mid-September to mid-April for an afternoon of sliding. The rink is suitable for young and old alike, with support penguins to help them along the way. The cafeteria serves drinks and snacks. Skating and figure skating lessons are available all year round. It is also the training ground for the "Huskies" ice hockey team.

SKATEPARK PÉITRUSS

Inaugurated in 2016, the Péitruss Skatepark is located in the Pétrusse valley, close to the former gas plant. With a total surface area of 3,400 square metres, it is set in the remains of the former fortifications, without altering the landscape. For this was the biggest challenge when the project was accepted: to build a leisure area while respecting the natural and historical surroundings. Founded in 1935 and built from the plans of Major J.C. Symonds, the Golf-Club Grand-Ducal takes place in a green park generously planted with trees. It has an 18-hole course and a second 6-hole course for beginners. The length is 5,197 m for ladies and 5,782 m for gentlemen. It also has complete infrastructures for training, such as a 28-station driving range with 14 covered practice areas with different targets. SENTIER DE RANDONNÉE – CIRCUIT AUTO-PEDESTRE

This self-pedestrian circuit starts on the car park located near the town hall of Colmar-Berg. You first pass through the residential area of Colmar and then climb the Liesebierg. You then descend into the Attert valley and cross the municipal park to reach the mouth of the Schwaarzbaach. You will then go up the river before reaching a plateau and then the district of Berg, from where you return to the starting point.
