In Springfield, 12 miles southwest of Hammond, five villas, each with seven rooms with private bathroom, offer complete accommodation. The rooms are equipped with refrigerators, microwaves, hair-dryer and Wi-Fi internet access. Depending on their size, they are attached to a stay, office or large closet. All of the villas look very much like the streets of the American neat banlieues that we used to see in television series.

As his name indicates, it was the residence of the maternal family of Edgar Degas, the famous French Impressionist painter whose mother was a New Orleans Creole. The painter stayed there during a trip in 1872-1873 and painted 18 paintings, including the famous Cotton office in New Orleans at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Pau. During the renovation, everything was done to preserve authenticity: the eight chimneys, the parquet floor, the height of twelve feet and certain ceiling mouldings, shutters and doors and fenètres. The four rooms with private bathroom share the patio, Jacuzzi, kitchen, dining room, library and cyber café.

Close to the French Quarter, Carl Smith, the owner, can give you all the pipes for a good stay. He speaks French and fluently German. During the night, avoid walking.
