LOCHRANZA HOTEL COUNTRY INN

World cuisine restaurant €€

This large white house overlooking the bay is the only one in the village to serve meals in the evening. The steakpie is delicious... The bar is especially famous on the island for its excellent selection of whisky, including the one from the village distillery. A guitar is fixed to the wall, on which people passing by often play between drinks. The atmosphere here is really warm and you can enjoy the terrace overlooking the garden on sunny days.

STAG'S PAVILION

The Stag's Pavilion is located in a long hall facing the golf course and the campsite. Valérie Anne, Scottish, and Rino Pisano, Italian chef, are at the helm of this acclaimed establishment. They fell in love with Arran in 2011, and the crush gave birth to a great adventure. The excellent cuisine features leek and cheese pies, mushroom risottos, salmon with parmesan cheese or sheep shoulders with honey and wine. The success is unequivocal and it is better to book in the evenings in season.

HARRY HAW'S

This charming little establishment with its attentive service has no other neighbour than Rothesay Castle as its neighbour. It has established itself as a must for locals for a quick lunch or a long family dinner. The food is both hearty and tasty, with a more sophisticated menu in the evening. Don't hesitate to drop in at lunchtime for gourmet plates at low prices: jacket potatoes, baguettes, pasta, pizzas and more. You can also pick up take-out. You can't go wrong!

KILDONAN HOTEL

The geographical location of the restaurant at the very tip of the island makes it an exceptional place. A restaurant with a refined atmosphere has been set up in the large bay window, tastefully built as an extension of the old building. We can have lunch there, snacks and sandwiches. In the evening, we dine there in front of a huge sea, with the lighthouse of the small island of Plada as a horizon. Ideal for a romantic dinner... The bar also has a superb view, to be admired while tasting a whisky or a real ale brewed in Arran.

BRODICK BAR & BRASSERIE

British restaurant €€

Renowned as one of the best restaurants on the island, the food is tasty and carefully presented. On the programme of festivities: fish, with the traditional fish & chips, but also sole, halibut and scallops. There are also some meats, a vegetarian dish and homemade pizzas. For lunch or early evening, prices are smaller with lunch and Early Bird formulas. As for the atmosphere, the decoration is simple, but the bistro setting provides the atmosphere and the service is friendly.

BRECHIN'S ON BRIDGEND STREET

British restaurant €€

The originality of this establishment is that it has been able to combine his two passions. It serves classic British cuisine, made from fresh, local produce, as well as a wide range of coffees, teas, beers and wines. A few delicious homemade cakes are also in the spotlight... and they're not the only ones! They share the limelight with musical instruments: guitars, ukuleles, etc. Jazz concerts are regularly given in the restaurant.

THE SANDWICH STATION

Sandwich shop

Delicious sandwiches in an incredible environment... That's what the Sandwich Station offers, which takes great pride in offering fresh preparations made from high-quality, seasonal local produce. His challenge? Make the best sandwiches possible. The bread is kneaded and baked by the baker (Blackwater Bakehouse) and each ingredient can be linked to a local producer or a homemade recipe. You can also enjoy a delicious soup (the recipe changes every day), to warm you up when the weather is windy and rainy.
