Read moreTo close the summer season, Marmande is planning a major gourmet celebration around its red star. The former Tomato Fiesta, now known as the Fêtes de Marmande, returns to its roots! On the menu: two lively days with a large farmers' market, cooking competitions and gourmet stands featuring tomatoes in all their forms. Of course, this festival also involves the Confrérie de la Tomate de Marmande, a PGI tomato with a new label. The knights of the Confrérie de Tomate de Marmande will be inducted into the order, as is only fitting.

In 1960, Ivan, the last baker in the village to make wood-fired bread, closed up store, and the smell of freshly baked bread ceased to hang over Bouglon.
