Read moreThis museum-pinacoteca, hidden on the second floor of the municipal library, exhibits great works by Uruguayan artists such as José Cúneo, Pedro Figari, Rafael Barradas, César Pesce Castro, Luis Scolpini, Carmelo Rivello, Gilberto Bellini and Juan Luis Blanes. It is possible to admire paintings from the Romantic and Post-Impressionist periods, such as La Pobreza by Pedro Blanes Viale. Both the museum and the library were donated by the philanthropist Eusebio Estaquio Giménez.
BIOPARQUE M'BOPICUÁ
Read moreLocated about 20 minutes by car from the city center, this 150-hectare nature reserve invites you to stroll along its shaded trails lined with native species and to observe the local wildlife. Among the 60 animal species present in the park are alligators, coatis, field deer and collared peccaries (the latter are particularly fond of being petted). The main objective of the park is to protect and breed wild species in order to reintroduce them into their natural habitat.

The park surrounding the property once had an area of almost 16,000 hectares, but it has since been reduced to only three hectares. Nevertheless, it is still a pleasant place to walk around and to admire the view of the Negro River.
ROOSEVELT PARK

It has pleasant paths that can be walked and can easily be combined with a walk along the Rambla. There is also a statue of the bust of the Uruguayan poet Dr. Juan Zorilla de San Martin. And to top it all off, the Teatro de Verano, which evokes the architecture of the ancient Greek theaters, is sure to dazzle you.
