For skiers, it's a free rider's paradise, but it's also the only glacier ski area in the Vaud Alps, open from October to May, and one of the few with a well-equipped snowpark from October onwards. In the event of late snow or early spring, and despite the disasters of global warming, the Glacier is a safe bet with its eternal snows and often excellent powder... It is part of the Les Diablerets - Villars ski area (125 km of runs). Two impressive 15-minute cable cars take you up to the magnificent peaks of Glacier 3000. Be sure to check out the gullied slopes below the lifts, as chamois often live here.
The offer is very complementary to that of Les Diablerets, as the glacier, with 25 km of gentle blue runs and a very long black run down a 7 km combe, is unmissable for the fantastic views it offers, the experience of the peaks for gentle gliding up with crossbows, and excellent snow quality in all seasons! The famous "Peak Walk by Tissot" suspension bridge is the only bridge in the world to link two summits, the lower summit (View Point) to the main summit of Le Scex Rouge. The suspension bridge offers breathtaking views of the Alps: the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. It is free of charge and open all year round, weather permitting.

The Diablerets Express gondola, with a capacity of 10 seats, takes you to the Meilleret ski area with its link to the Villars and Gryon areas and offers a wide range of skiing possibilities, from beginners to advanced skiers. Twenty-five installations and more than 100 km of runs. To reach the Glacier 3000 domain, you have to drive to the Pillon pass (10 minutes) or take the shuttle bus that links the village to the Pillon pass.

An exceptional hike to do if you are a good walker. Do you like mid-mountain hikes? Near Geneva, the AGAS association takes care of everything and promises you a nice reward at the top of your hike! The view from the Salève (a French mountain at the gates of the city) is breathtaking: the whole of the Geneva harbor, the Jet d'eau, the Jura mountains. A reward that can be savored in any weather. Meeting point every Sunday at 10 am at the terminus of the bus 8 in Veyrier-Douane. Beware, this hike is for sporty people who have some training. Count on five to eight hours of walking according to the chosen circuit (three of which at a steady pace) for this 800 m hike, and bring your passport, good equipment, good walking shoes, hat, walking sticks, crampons if you are in winter, a picnic, water, sun cream, windbreaker and all the equipment necessary for a big hike. Make sure you are in good physical condition: the landscape is sumptuous from the summit, but even the descent is very physical and you should not be subject to vertigo. For the less athletic, a new cable car should be in service from May 2023. At the top, a climbing wall, a panoramic restaurant, a botanical garden and a museographic space will be built.

Thanks to a partnership between the City of Vevey and the Association Vevey sur Glace, this 600 m² skating rink rises from its ashes every winter season. The City finances the infrastructure and the Association is responsible for the management and operation of the skating rink, which it animates and keeps alive. This covered skating rink installed on the lake shore replaces an old natural skating rink, to the delight of young and old alike. Skate or helmet rentals.

In winter, when snow is abundant, the road linking Les Avants to Sonloup, in the heights of Montreux, is closed and you can enjoy more than 2.5 km of toboggan run! Please note that on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, the track is open at night until 10 pm. A delight for family tobogganing in complete safety. To go up between 980 and 1,200 m, you can take the magnificent funicular for 6 minutes, straight up from another era. Just for this little jewel of the Belle Époque, we appreciate the expedition.

Home to a small winter and summer sports resort at 1,348 meters, the Pléiades mountain offers a multitude of activities just 40 minutes from Vevey. In winter, 8 km of downhill ski trails and 10 km of Nordic ski trails will satisfy beginners and intermediate skiers alike. Ideal for families, you can take lessons on site. Marked trails are also available for snowshoe hikers. The Astropléiades trail is an educational trail with kiosks providing information on galaxies, the solar system...

Between 1,150 and 2,042 m, five facilities await you, with 8 km of pistes for all levels. The ski area is quite small, but it is truly magnificent, with impressive views of the Alps and Lake Geneva. It is also unique in that it is only accessible by cogwheel train. The Montreux ski school offers group and individual lessons. You can also enjoy snowshoeing, or even try out the 5 km of cross-country ski trails.

Rental of boats, sports trips on the lake of Neuchâtel, wake board, tubing, banana resort, water skiing… rates are staggered.

Equipped with a new four-seater chairlift and other lifts, Espace Dôle offers a good ski area, especially for beginners. It offers 23 km of pistes, served by a total of four chairlifts and eight surface lifts. Altitudes range from 1,235 to 1,663 meters. It's a small, family-friendly resort, offering lessons in downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding and more. It's even possible to ski at night (thanks to lighting), on the two slopes Corps de Garde and Bois de Saint-Cergue.

GenèveRando is an association dedicated to hikers, promoting hiking in collaboration with local, cantonal, federal and international authorities, and maintaining and marking the canton's footpaths. Genossenschaft Alpin Center Zermatt is a travel agency based in Zermatt. They offer a variety of mountain tours and activities, both in summer and winter. In summer, you can take part in day or multi-day tours, including ascents of the Matterhorn. In winter, they offer heli-skiing, freeride and avalanche studies, among others.

Schweizer Schneesportschule Leukerbad AG is a ski school located in Leukerbad. It offers a variety of courses and activities for all levels and ages, including skiing, snowboarding, telemark and cross-country skiing. Private lessons are also available. The school also offers snowshoe excursions for all levels. Prices vary according to the type of course chosen.

The Alpine Club brings together all lovers of the mountains and mountain sports, from beginners to the most experienced. Numerous activities are offered: snowshoeing or hiking, cross-country skiing, ski touring, alpine skiing and of course mountaineering, races, climbing on frozen waterfalls, rock climbing. Initiation, training in mountaineering, organization of races in the Alps of Haute-Savoie, Valais, in the Jura or in Salève. In addition to its outings, the Alpine Club organizes conferences and meetings with authors throughout the year.
