Impeccably located just behind the Savitsky Museum and not far from the city's central market, this hotel is spread over three levels, including an attic, and offers spacious rooms, all of which are very comfortable and beautifully decorated with local crafts. All rooms are equipped with good quality bedding, cable TV, air conditioning and wifi. The hotel's restaurant, Marta's Kitchen, offers national and fusion dishes, as well as a hearty and fresh breakfast with homemade pastries! Best map in town.

Entering Ichan kala through the west gate, go around the palace and then follow the walls for about 30 meters. There's a sign for the house. Some small rooms with private bathrooms, equipped with fans. The house and the breakfast room, under a high painted wooden ceiling, are Uzbek style. The two original rooms, slightly simpler and equipped with air-conditioning, are nevertheless spacious and pleasant, and have small balconies overlooking the walls. We love the roof terrace, a real plus of this establishment.

The rooms in the Mukhammad Amin Khan Madrasa have been fully restored and are among the most pleasant in the city. Of course, most of them are not very spacious, but offer an excellent level of comfort, each with a small bathroom with shower or bathtub. In the centre of the courtyard, the outdoor tea room during the high season enjoys a lovely view from the top of the minaret adjacent to the madrasah. It's open to everyone from 3pm to midnight. The hotel restaurant is located in the Matiyoz Divanbeg madrasa.

In a house in the old town, 50 meters from the bazaar, this pleasant hotel with a small canteen, a billiard room and a covered courtyard for folkloric shows remains among the best value for money in the city. It is clean and ideally located and there are several different categories (comfort, renovated or spartan...) to satisfy all budgets. Special mention for the superb terrace where guests can, in summer, enjoy a home-made barbecue while admiring the breathtaking view of Khiva, its walls and minarets.

Outside Ichan kala, turn right out the west gate. The house is about 50 metres from the gate, facing the walls, which can be seen from its small wooden fence. Five bedrooms and dormitories simply equipped, with private bathroom and small living room decorated in a traditional way. The house is well situated and the garden is very pleasant with its takhtans for a break during the day. A good address, already well experienced, which Nodir strives to improve every year to satisfy its guests.

Sober but well-equipped rooms, as in all the Malika group's addresses, and attentive English-speaking staff. This establishment is very well located, in the centre of the old town, a stone's throw from the Pakhlavan Mahmoud mausoleum and the Islam Khodja minaret. Try to book room no. 23, which has a beautiful view. The central courtyard with its iwan dominated by the minaret is a small haven of calm, which unfortunately lacks a little shade in the hottest hours. Nice address to stay in Khiva at the heart of the subject.

Our favorite address in Khiva. Rashid successfully manages his small B&B opened in 1996 inside the walls. Impeccably located and with two magnificent iwans, one of which is upstairs, lovers of nights under the stars will be delighted. Rooms with a good level of comfort, rather spacious and with private bathrooms. There's also a six-bed dormitory. Rashid has a second B&B, located a little further in Ichan kala, Tashpulatov street, which has 13 rooms. The establishment, more modern, is managed by his young sons.

One of the most beautiful hotels in Khiva. Opened in 2018 by the management of the Bek Tour agency and located a few minutes walk from Ichan Khala, Erkin Palace offers great modern comfort, without denoting traditional architecture. Relaxing after the long days of visiting in the heat of the Khorezm! We appreciate its bedding with soft ergonomic mattresses, its 35 spacious and fully equipped rooms, its excellent soundproofing and its lobby worthy of a Thousand and One Nights palace! Gargantuan buffet breakfast.

This yurt camp is located below Ayaz Kala and allows you to spend a night in the nomadic way, in the heart of the desert. About fifteen yurts in total dominate the surrounding desert. Visitors generally spend three days and two nights on site. By negotiation, it is possible to organize a day trip to Kul Kala, about ten kilometers from Ayaz Kala. The evenings are enlivened by traditional songs around the campfire.

The Fayz offers 37 sober, comfortable rooms, equipped with clean and functional bathrooms. The common areas have not benefited from the same finishing touches and are a little off-putting, but overall the quality/price ratio is good. The hotel has a large courtyard with seven luxury rooms. In the meantime, for travelers who are just passing through Urgentch, the address is perfectly located, only 2 km from the airport. Especially since the owner has built in the same block a bar, a pizzeria, a café.

This establishment of the Malika group chose its location very opportunely: just in front of the west gate, the main entrance to Khiva. All rooms are very comfortably equipped with TV, air conditioning and bathtubs for doubles. The restaurant room is nothing special except, for once in Uzbekistan, that it is not in the basement and is quite bright, with a view of the basin and the western entrance of Khiva. If you wish to make a reservation, please note that rooms 26 and 30, on the first floor, have a view on the west door of Khiva.

The Asia Khiva has the luxurious looks and all the amenities of a top-of-the-range hotel. It has been completely renovated recently and reopened in March 2018. Yesterday still a bit old-fashioned, it now presents a new face, and its performances are appreciable. The Asia Khiva had for him the advantage of being well located facing the south gate and above all of being the only upscale establishment in Khiva with the Hayat Inn. Possibility to organize tours in the region, especially to visit the ancient citadels.

Magnificent small hotel located at 50 m in front of the southern entrance of Ichan-Kala entirely rebuilt by its owner and his brother who are carpenters by profession. And it shows: all the beams are worked by hand in the purest local style; every detail smells of chisel or plane and the hard work of the worker who does not use machines. The comfort is simple, but the atmosphere is very authentic and family friendly and the whole family of Shavkhat will make you spend a very pleasant stay in a charming hotel.

Opened in 2015, this establishment in Ichan Kala, near the bazaar, is very well run by Shakir and his family. His daughters speak English, which is especially helpful, especially since tours as well as transfers to Urengench and Bukhara are offered. Tea and fruits are offered at any time of the day, and a small kitchen is available for guests. A very good address, which has the particularity, still quite rare in Khiva, to be open all year round. Meals are available on request.

In Ichan kala there are three small hotels near the north gate, including a more luxurious one completed in 2004, with a total of 18 rooms. All are comfortable, decorated in a European style and equipped with air conditioning. The first hotel, with its rather traditional decoration, is a little dark; the second has a courtyard to enjoy a little light; the third emphasizes a little more on the traditional style and is slightly more upscale. Efficient address, but quickly complete when groups arrive.

Uzbektourism has been hard at work renovating the former Khorezm Hotel. The U-shaped plan of the hotel has been closed by a huge glass façade, an inground swimming pool in the centre, and all the rooms have been redone in the European style. The first large luxury hotel in the whole region, but lacking in character. There is an ATM in the lobby that dispenses dollars. It always accommodates large groups of tourists, when they are too large to stay in Khiva's guesthouses.

We are faced with a dilemma: Hotel, does not correspond to our category "Good and cheap" (it is really not good but expensive), or to the category "Comfort or charm" (it is particularly uncomfortable and has absolutely no charm). However, this is the hotel to which you will be turning, because it is in the middle, and there are always rooms. As a good heir to Soviet hotels, it has not been renovated for years, hot water is a luxury, water short is not guaranteed, beds are at best uncomfortable, the worst broken and the whole is dirty. Not forgetting that the staff is kind as a prison door and the rates are high. In short, it dépannera you if you have no other solution.

The Rahnamo Hotel is clean, spacious and fairly new, but it is still a very expensive place to stay. Especially if you have not taken the precaution of booking through an agency and the tourist rates are not negotiated. Even then, the rates do not go below $100, which is far too expensive. But if you have spent a week wandering around Karakalpakstan or taken the time to visit Moynaq and the shores of the Aral Sea, you will certainly be happy to find real bedding and plenty of hot water. Sometimes it's priceless!
