This opera house is one of the most important in Poland. Since 1994, the Bydgoszcz Opera has organized the "XXX Festival, the Bydgoszcz Opera Festival". This major event offers its audiences operas, operettas, ballets and musicals. The Opéra Nova company performs not only in Bydgoszcz, but also at other opera festivals in Poland and abroad. Since 1989, the ensemble has toured extensively in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Malta and Italy. Opera Nova's repertoire is rich and diverse.

The Deer Bear Pub is the worthy successor to the Whisky Vodka Cocktail Bar, which occupied Panny Marii 13 just two years ago. A wide selection of craft and local beers is now served. The speciality of the place may have changed, but the long counter is still there. It's the perfect place for hop lovers in search of new flavors. The Pionier cinema was founded by Albert Pietzke in 1909 as the Helios cinema. It is the oldest surviving cinema in the world. The first screening took place here on September 26, 1909. The cinema was renovated in 2002 and equipped with modern technology. However, it still retains all the charm of yesteryear. Films can be watched in a plush armchair in the comfortable auditorium, or at table in the Kiniarnia bar two floors down. This retro-style room has also remained true to its era, with its 1898 piano.
