This retreat is located in a religious establishment built at the end of the 19th century. The furniture is old and classic, but the rooms are nonetheless comfortable and warm. The city centre is only 30 minutes away by bus and 15 minutes by car. There are 34 rooms to choose from, all different and always comfortable. Hearty breakfast. Free internet connection. The Thon Hotel Astoria is ideally located, just a few minutes walk from the central station and in a street perpendicular to Karl Johans gate. The rooms are a bit small, but all have telephone, TV, radio and a bathroom with hair dryer. The breakfast room is very pleasant. Breakfast can also be served on the patio. The hotel is well known for its friendly and smiling staff. The neighbourhood can sometimes be noisy (there are two discotheques in the area).

A less enchanting establishment than its colleagues of the chain, but which can nevertheless satisfy the most demanding with its suites in particular. The most demanding guests will avoid the standard rooms, without charm and a bit cramped, and will fall back on the larger rooms. Located opposite the station, this hotel, inaugurated in 1898, was formerly known as Dølaheimen (the home of the valley farmers). Indeed, the peasants who came to town by train used to stay here.
