For the occasion, between 10,000 and 15,000 people attend the event each year. On the menu: parades by day and by night with decorated and illuminated flower floats, musical demonstrations, costumes and cultural demonstrations by international groups, fireworks displays, fairground, bowls competitions, garage sale, festival dance... Since 1900, lavender has made Digne les Bains and the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence the leading producer of lavender and lavandin in the region. During the celebration, also attend demonstrations of distillation of this fragrant plant and leave with a few sprigs of lavender whose sweet scent will long perfume your drawers and cupboards.

And that's the case, because here's two raquette trails in Guillestrois. The first starts at the Col de Var and evolves on a trail often traced. After two short hours of walking, you will reach the hut of the Écuelle at 2227 meters. From this point, a trail allows you to go down to the Napoleon hut, where the second circuit begins. It will take you in two kilometers to the Catch cabin, at 2170 meters altitude. It is regularly traced and is oriented south. If you have a little time, why don't you get to the two courses?
