These voluntary rescues at sea intervene 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on request of the Regional Operational Center of Rescue and Surveillance of the Antilles-Guyana (CROSSAG). The financing of this association is mainly based on donations made by individuals and companies. They carry out search operations at sea, assist ships in difficulty, assess the condition of the people to be rescued, give them first aid and bring the injured and shipwrecked back to shore where other rescue organizations take care of them.
