Just on the edge of the village, but nevertheless independent, the cross-country skiing centre is easily accessible. Renovated in 1993, it has a reception structure that meets the standards of Youth and Sport or National Education approvals. Cross-country skis and snowshoes can be rented on site. You will appreciate the dining room with the fireplace and the warmth of the entire gîte (with a capacity of 29 people). From there, you can discover a whole network of cross-country skiing routes that extends over 35 km and connects the northern area of Haut-Pilat by the GR7. You will enjoy the 15 km of cross-country skiing trails as well as the 5 km of snowshoeing trails.

The Vercors is a territory made for adventure. Jean-Christophe and his team of guides offer you a complete range of activities in a preserved nature. This is the ski and mountain section of the club. From the first snow on the Alps, the club's leaders offer outings on heights for skiing, hiking skiing, and snowshoe outings.

Two sites are available for free climbing: the walls of Plaine Dranse, comprising 23 routes of 5 to 10 meters, and the abseils of the L'Essert waterfall, offering a descent on the left bank with 9 abseils of 30 meters. Located by the river, in the heart of the picturesque Gorge landscape, the Nordic Park invites you to explore 25 km of carefully groomed trails, perfect for Nordic skiing. The area includes a free beginner's zone, two specially dedicated green runs, and three trails of varying levels to suit all levels of skier. For those who prefer to diversify their winter activities, snowshoeing, biathlon and even snow golf are available to enrich your experience in this superb environment.

The Cordon ski area includes 5 ski lifts and 10 runs over 11 km. The on-site French ski school will guide you through the beginner and advanced areas. 8 marked snowshoe trails are available free of charge. There's also sledging and dog sledding. Of course, these trails are also accessible in summer. The ski area is part of the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area, which is always linked by ski-bus shuttle.

The International Ski School, accredited by the French Ministry of Sports, has 95 schools in France, Switzerland and Italy, offering ski, snowboard, skwal and Telemark lessons. Lessons, given by ENSA-trained instructors, are available from Sunday to Friday, mornings for skiing and afternoons for snowboarding, starting at the top of Le Signal. Private lessons, on or off piste, and private days with an instructor are also available.

Professionals who know the Portes du Soleil area inside out and can help you discover its magnificent panorama, on foot, on skis or on mountain bikes. Espace Moto Neige is simply the largest snowmobile park in the Alps and a team of professionals who will take you on a day and evening discovery of the most beautiful landscapes of Alpe d'Huez with a ride to the summits at 2,500 m altitude. Their professionalism, combined with their human qualities and mountain ethic, make them ideal guides. Whether you're looking for a waterfall descent in the Balme canyon, a via ferrata in Passy, a ski tour in the Aravis mountains, or of course the inevitable Vallée Blanche descent on skis or mountaineering.

Husky Safari proposes an original activity: the conduct of dog sleds. Like a trapper, go to discover the snowy trails where wild nature reveals its most primary beauty. A high mountain guide, Grégory Coubat offers you ski, hiking, off-piste outings and mountaineering activities throughout Maurienne and beyond. At Norma, it invites you to start climbing ice climbing. Chalmazel is the perfect place to enjoy a wide range of fun activities with family and friends. Located between 1240 and 1471 metres above sea level, the Domaine de raquettes et d'orientation de Saint-Cirgues-en-Montagne awaits you for one or more hiking (s), in the heart of the snow-capped landscape still intact. Between 2,5 and 12 kilometres, its circuits offer you the opportunity to make progress at your own pace and according to your wishes. Start why not by the cross of Raynaud and its 2 little kilometers, before you start for the wood of Bauzon, which will ask you about 1 hours walking. And if you're already well trained, the red and black tracks should fill you.

For walkers and snowshoe enthusiasts, Méribel offers an easy half-hour walk to Lac de la Tueda. Although the lake is frozen in winter, we strongly advise against attempting to walk on it to ensure your safety. You can take a leisurely stroll around the lake, even reaching the chalet for a panoramic view, or extend your effort as far as the Refuge du Saut (2 hours one way).

This snowshoe hiking is anything but routine because it happens in the night! With a frontal lamp, you can travel 7 km with 150 m of difference in the Massif massif. Unique atmosphere!

The Col de Joux Plane, well known to cyclists, is transformed into a Nordic domain once the snow has fallen. Enjoy a breathtaking view of the Giffre valley and the famous Mont-Blanc. For beginners or the most experienced, the domain offers 7 groomed trails, from green to red. A pedestrian and marked itinerary also allows beautiful walks, feet or snowshoes in the powder. The youngest will enjoy their exploits on the sledging track.

This vast area - one of the largest in Haute-Savoie and the best snow-covered - includes sixty kilometers of Nordic trails and two cross-country ski centers. A superb traverse of Alpine landscapes, with traditional chalets and exceptional views of the Aravis, Mont-Blanc, Chablais and Jura massifs. The resort also welcomes fitness enthusiasts with its ski-in/ski-out wellness trail and trail runners with two spectacular loops on both slopes. Suitable for all levels.

To feel like a musher, adults and children are welcome to visit Ludovic Gloanec, a qualified musher and founder of Traîneaux de l'Ubac. These mountain, nature and animal enthusiasts manage a pack of magnificent Siberian huskies. At the Praz de Lys - Sommand ski resort or on the Agy plateau, you can learn to drive a dog sled, prepare a team and, in two days, hike, dine around campfires and bivouac. In summer, you can try your hand at cani-VTT and cani-kart (or husky buggy), which replace the sled.

On the top floor of the Maison de la Montagne, a meeting place for mountaineers and hikers, or on its website, La Chamoniarde distributes information on the quality and practicability of the routes (hiking, climbing and mountaineering, skiing, hang-gliding...) and provides practical information for organizing your race or your itinerary (huts, ski lifts, regulations) as well as the necessary documentation (books, topographic maps...) The Colorado course offers a 1,500-meter descent with exhilarating turns, while the Eldorado takes you on a 3,000-meter run to Belle-Côte. Downhill skiing at Praz-de-Lys-Sommand (now known as Espace des Lys) means family vacations in an exceptional natural setting. The ski area offers 55 km of pistes spread over 27 blue runs, 7 green runs, 12 red runs and 6 black runs for the more athletic skiers. For the acrobats who don't shy away, 1 snowpark and 3 boarder-crosses provide thrills and spills, and even a few laughs and spills... Les Gets is part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, one of the largest in the world. It includes 12 resorts linked between France and Switzerland, which offers you 600 km of skiing! Another great climbing spot in the Ardèche, on the shores of Lake Issarlès. Three beautiful, shaded granite cliffs offer climbers almost thirty routes, from 6 to 35 meters high. If you're not a climber, you can also walk around the lake on a 5 km footpath. The picturesque name of this climbing spot comes from a local legend, telling the story of a shepherdess milking her goat on a rock when her village was submerged by the waters. You can even catch a glimpse of her face by plunging her head into the lake.

Saint-Cirgues offers an ideal environment for snow activities in the heart of winter. The Suc du Pal site has been developed in this beautiful setting for the enjoyment of young and old alike. This small resort is home to a few buildings, including an inn, a bar, an equipment rental company, etc. The Col de Rousset is appreciated by families, especially for its very affordable rates. It offers a vast and wild alpine ski area, with 29 trails and a Nordic area with 12 km of marked trails and 15 km of paths reserved for snowshoeing. It is one of the three gates of the Nordic domain of the Haut Vercors. 8 km from the villages of Saint-Martin and Saint-Julien-en-Vercors, the Nordic site of the Herbouilly plateau is linked to the Hauts Plateaux on the Isère side (Corrençon-en-Vercors) and Bois-Barbu (Villard-de-Lans) by 130 km of ski runs. Thus, Herbouilly is part of an exceptional Nordic site which reveals striking landscapes with a Scandinavian atmosphere. Loops of 3 to 30 km are suitable for snowshoeing. There is also a two-level sledge run and "Pistatou", 800 metres of multi-discipline runs. Dog sled rides are possible in Saint-Martin-en-Vercors. A site that is appreciated all year round; In winter: the Nordic resort of the Col de Carri has a difference in altitude that makes the 60 km of cross-country ski trails sometimes difficult, but always very pleasant. You can also practice sledging, snowshoeing and dog sledding. In summer, there are many marked hiking trails. The pass allows you to reach La Chapelle-en-Vercors from the Lente forest, or from the Machine pass if you come directly from the Isère valley.

Here are the features of this adventure: a length of 600 meters, a difference in altitude of 235 meters, a starting point situated at an altitude of 660 meters, with a course lasting 2 to 3 hours and varying in difficulty. Crossing the cables at the top, the view over Thônes is breathtaking. It's advisable to make this ascent in the morning to take advantage of the cooler temperatures.
