Discreetly located at the foot of the cathedral is a bookstore-gallery where everyone can find what they are looking for, whether you are a lover of literature or of art and history. Here, old and modern books are displayed alongside postcards and old photos, drawings, engravings and even paintings... An associative bookshop with Chevrières: the challenge is daring! But the president Michèle Renaux-Lauden, documentalist with the retreat, can share their enthusiasm. It aims to offer some 5,000 references. Favourites, innovations, works on nature, but a little rejected literary types: news, poetry, plays... For that, the association works with local publishing houses as L'Iroli which publishes of Haïkus. The customers can come to stock up on its room of 20 m ², a former barn, or order works by telephone and Internet and go looking for them in Boutique Artisans du Monde (rue Fournier-Sarlovèze in Compiègne). The association also plans soon to offer books opportunity to offer a second life for them, and take part in lounges of the book.
