RENDEZ-VOUS AUX JARDINS

EXPOSITION « REIMS CAPITALE MEROVINGIENNE »

On the occasion of the 1 500 th anniversary of the birth of the franc kingdom (512-2012), the Saint-Rémi Museum offers a journey to the th century. De of daily life in the Champagne-Ardenne region, this exhibition is structured around three tombs and their treasures, discovered in 2002 in Saint-Dizier. On 27 November 511, Clovis, king of the Franks baptized in Reims, died. His eldest son, Thierry (Theodoric), inherited most of his kingdom. At the beginning of 512, he chose Reims as the capital. The City of Reims chose this anniversary date to highlight the rich collection of the Musée Saint-Rémi: more than 400 jewels and objects of the daily life of our ancestors, which these people gain in their grave. Beside the fund of the Musée Saint-Rémi, the exhibits of this exhibition: three tombs of the Carolingian Upper Aristocracy in the Kingdom of Reims. There was a young woman and two high-level chiefs, as evidenced by the wealth of their funeral furniture.

Throughout the year, the National Forest Park organizes outings, events and discovery workshops for the general public. Free, but please call 06 74 23 30 91 to reserve.

In search of forest mammals: Wednesdays February 21 and 28, 2pm to 5pm - Maison de la Forêt, Leuglay. A hike for the general public to try and spot the traces and signs of the presence of this wild fauna so closely associated with the National Forest Park. Deer rubbings, housings, leashes... Organized by the Maison de la Forêt.

Wild basketry workshop: Saturday February 24 and Sunday February 25 at 9 am - Maison de Pays d'Auberive. Discover the basics of this traditional craft. Recognize winter shrubs and harvest the plants you'll use to make baskets and other objects you'll take home with you. Organized by the Auberive CIN.

Nature & climate, a close link: Saturday March 2, 2-4:30pm - Jardin de l'Eden, Châteauvillain. The climate is changing, and so are the cycles of nature around us! So what impact does climate change have on nature? Are plant flowering and fruiting disrupted by rising temperatures? To answer these questions, the Haute-Marne climatology association is launching a participatory inventory to collect data. At this event, we'll look at why and how you too can take part in this study.
