AUGY TRENCH
The bief says Augy's trench was first a shipyard executed by Spanish prisoners, deserters and bagnards between 1830 and 1839. 5 kilometers long and 11 meters wide, its 6 meters deep in a land made of limestone rocks, clay land, sandstone and graphite rocks, and then fully masked stone, gently augment the difficulties of this realization. Many of them left their lives for accidents, dysentery and other epidemics… Most of them are buried in a square of Augy-sur-Aubois cemetery. Immersed in the cliff with the fully wooded upper parts, in the most charming landscape, this surprising book also features ecological benefits. It is a place with many animal species, such as the Martin fisherman, squirrel, deer, heron and other raptors. The entire length of this savory trench for the Berry Canal is classified at Historic Monuments.
