CHAPELLE SAINTE-NOYALE

The Sainte-Noyale chapel is one of these amazing places of beauty.... Push the door of this chapel or its oratory and enter another world, full of colour and art. Painted frescos decorate the walls and ceilings, giving the impression of entering a setting. Painted panelling, polychrome sculptures, paintings: the eye is lost in the rich details of what seemed to be a modest religious building. The place is dedicated to Saint Noyale (a variant of the first name Nolwenn), a young martyr of the 6th century who was beheaded for having refused the marriage imposed by her father.
