LE VERGER DES CHÂTEAUX * * *
Beautiful address nestled at the foot of the vineyard offering rooms with or without balcony, restaurant and winstub in the Alsatian setting
At the foot of the vineyards, overlooking the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle, this establishment offers 32 rooms with or without balcony. Uncluttered, cozy decor, old wooden doors as headboards, charming, elegant bedspreads: the atmosphere is cosy and comforting! The buffet breakfast is copious and above all varied: there's something for everyone! The restaurant La Table des Châteaux serves traditional, high-quality cuisine.

The following day, we were met with a lackadaisical response from the hotel staff. The manager’s casual dismissal of our plight with a mere “oh really? Thought it was tomorrow” was both unprofessional and inconsiderate, especially considering our prior detailed communication via email which left no room for such misunderstandings.
Upon eventually accessing the hotel, the extent of its shortcomings became painfully evident. It is difficult to encapsulate the myriad of issues we encountered, but they significantly marred our experience. The hotel’s attempt at price adjustments during the booking process was another red flag, with the price inexplicably escalating four times, culminating in an exorbitant and unjustifiable rate.
The hotel’s overall condition was deplorable; it was evident that the establishment is struggling to stay afloat. Everything, from amenities to infrastructure, appeared old and neglected. The broken elevator was a testament to this neglect. Given these conditions, we opted not to have dinner at the hotel, despite having already paid for it.
Our breakfast experience was equally disappointing. The food quality was substandard, with nothing appearing fresh. This, coupled with the depleted soap supplies in the bathroom and hallways perpetually cluttered with cleaning equipment, painted a picture of poor management and maintenance.
In conclusion, our stay at Le Verger des Chateaux was far from the relaxing experience we had hoped for. It was marked by a series of unfortunate events and a clear lack of attention to guest comfort and satisfaction. I cannot recommend this hotel and would advise potential guests to seek accommodation elsewhere.
