This exceptional elixir makes the wealth of Breton land. Tasty product resulting from the blending of a freshly pressed apple must and Brittany cider brandy, Pommeau de Bretagne AOC is the heir of a long tradition. This happy blending results from an old agricultural domestic practice. Today, thanks to the know-how of about fifteen professional farmer or artisan producers, the production of this gourmet treasure is perpetuate in Brittany and has been awarded in 1997 with a Controlled Designation of Origin. This famous lambig Breton is then produced thanks to a process called mutage. And the farm families kept this process secret since it helped maintaining the juice flavours throughout the year. Aged in oak barrels for at least fourteen months, pommeau then develops a very rich aromatic range according to the region, tannins, and its age. Shining, clear, beautiful amber colour, round, authentic, it is the most popular regional drink with its subtle flavours, which perfectly blend with an foie gras starter or a melon's heart. For dessert, its slightly sweet taste enhances chocolate or apple desserts and fruit salads. Do not forget that cooking it will subtly flavour sauces. Far from being a simple drink, though...
