ALLOTMENT GARDEN ASSOCIATION OF THE CITY OF REINDEER
Read moreMore than 1 000 parcels of family gardens are present on Rennes. A great success for many people. Each new parcel has a garden shelter, a rainwater recovery tank and an individual compost. Collective equipment is also available to gardeners at each site: reception office, storage premises, collective compost and water points. Founded in 1981, the association of family gardens of the city of Rennes manages the eleven sites of family gardens in Rennes, under a convention with the City. The association's gardeners elect a management committee for each sector. In order to obtain a parcel, it is necessary to join the association, to carry out an annual occupancy charge and to pay a deposit. Gardeners may produce their parcel at their convenience, but the marketing of harvested products is prohibited. This gives people the opportunity to reinvest public spaces and to be able to grow in envy. At present, more than 1 000 garden parcels (from 50 to 200 m ²) are proposed in either of the 11 areas of the city.
