The Arvor cinema has been given a makeover in early 2021 by moving into one of the three Identity towers located directly next to the train station. It now has 5 rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 340 spectators. While keeping its Art et Essai programming line, this new Arvor will be able to offer more films and therefore expose (and enhance) the diversity of independent cinema. It is also easier to organize events and special evenings: debates, meetings, previews, thematic programs... as well as the now famous Sunday Night Film (once or twice a month), which is an opportunity to see or re-see on the big screen a lovingly selected cult film. The reception, with its decoration made of visible raw materials (wood, concrete columns...) also has a coffee area to wait pleasantly before a film or to debrief passionately with friends at the end of a session.

It is on the esplanade Charles de Gaulle that young and young people enjoy seeing a good film or even the retransmission of a ballet (the Bolchoï), an opera (the Metropolitan Opera) or a play (La Comédie Française). Gaumont cinemas are not only blockbusters broadcasters: There are all tastes. The DVD offer is indeed present and it is always time to improve its language skills by cultivating works from many countries. With 13 rooms and 2,800 seats, this building designed by a Pritzker, Christian of Portzamparc, is practical. Decorated by Christian Lacroix, this multiplex is well appreciated by the Rennais and it is often very convenient to buy these tickets through the e-ticket or the available terminals. The attractiveness of the place is due to high quality audio facilities, comfortable seats, accessible parking spaces, spacious rooms and even the choice of your place. The ciné-club of the University of Rennes 2 welcomes you every Wednesday for double film screenings organised by the Department of Performing Arts. Benefiting from all the modern comforts and a giant screen, the cinema allows to see in very good conditions films from a program ensuring a great diversity (great classics, darker films, documentaries...), partnerships with various associations as well as the Travelling festival. Outside the cinema club, live shows, concerts and conferences are held all year round to complete a programme that allows everyone to benefit from a professional cultural offer at very accessible prices.

Located in the National Theater of Brittany, this cinema offers to the spectators to discover films of the whole world in VO with a clear preference for the cinema of author in all kinds. The program is of high quality and offers a number of different events (meetings, white cards, surprise films...). It is widely advised to follow the program attentively since, in addition to some unique screenings, the TNB cinema also offers retrospectives of certain directors by showing their complete works (in recent years: Kurosawa, Fassbinder, Ozu, Jarmusch... among others!). A marvel for the connoisseurs.
