This square and this street belong to the medieval quarter of the city. Bordered by houses of the seventeenth century with wooden facades, the Place du Marchix is the first place in the market in the heart of the primitive village. The house of Savigny des xive and xve centuries has been recently renovated. Located on the left bank of Nançon, the traditional lace is visible and famous because the lavandians used Fougères ash. A guided tour of this area is possible thanks to the tourist office.
