A la carte menu based on Alsatian gastronomy in a cult address in Riquewihr.

In a house dating from 1610 (listed as a Historic Monument), you'll be seated in a cellar vaulted with superb cut stone. Whether on the menu or à la carte, Alsatian gastronomy is masterfully showcased. If the cordon bleu is the greatest specialty (and a huge one at that), you won't be disappointed by the other dishes on offer either. Stanislas Mayer, the chef, is passionate about his work, and you can really feel it in his dishes. To accompany them, the house offers the best regional vintages, served by the glass.

The food was not bad, but beware! We were 5 people and we ordered 4 dishes to share. When we paid the bill, they made us pay 10€ more for not having ordered one dish per person. It's a robbery!!! On the menu it said that you were charged 10€ for the person who didn't eat, but in our case we all ate! 5 people share 4 dishes and they make us pay 10€ more. It makes no sense whatsoever this robbery. If the 5 of us we order 4 dishes of 30€ each we're anyway paying more for sharing these dishes than if the 5 of us would have ordered 5 individual dishes of 10€. There are many good places in town with very similar dishes. If you don't want to be robbed of 10€ for not eating, go to another restaurant (but double check in case this non-sense policy is a common thing in this village...). Never seen something like this before. To me this is the opposite to hospitality

Wir waren mit 2 Personen + Hund dort essen. Obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten, wurden wir freundlich empfangen und bekamen zeitnah einen Tisch und auch Wasser für den Hund. Das Personal war schnell, kompetent und freundlich. Das Essen war sehr lecker, ich hatte Schäufele mit warmen Kartoffelsalat, der Kartoffelsalat war einfach spitze!!
Die Elsässer Platte von meinem Mann war reichlich und auch sehr schmackhaft. Jederzeit wieder!!

Super expérience. Le cadre est chaleureux et l’accueil aussi. Nous avons très bien mangé tant le menu que les spécialités alsaciennes ou les suggestions. C’est une super adresse où d’ailleurs il y a autant de touristes que de locaux. Bref, un goût de « reviens-y »
