Surulere Food Canteen
A small, simple, one-storey green and yellow house with plastic tables and chairs. The setting is rudimentary, but the food is good and very inexpensive. Behind the counter, soups and stews simmer in large pots. You order and pay before sitting down; basins and jugs of water are available for washing your hands. The locals come mainly for amala, accompanied by ewedu and gbegiri, but you can also find rice (ofada rice, a fragrant local brown rice) which you can accompany with beef or grilled fish (tilapia, crocker).
