Along with Kerbatch, some 30 km away, the megalithic circles of Wassu are part of a group of stone groups and tumuli spread between Senegal and Gambia. The Wassu site is home to 11 cromlechs, composed of laterite stones cut into the rock some 200 metres away. They are the tallest in the area, the largest measuring 2.59 m. A small museum in English describes the site's history, origins and excavations.
