Nestled atop Mount Koshio, a wooded hill 183 meters high, Koshio Shrine is a peaceful place surrounded by nature. Once a Buddhist temple, it is now a sanctuary dedicated to the god of medicine and harvests, a symbol of protection and well-being. In spring, the path leading to the shrine is adorned with wild flowers, including erythrones, heralding the arrival of new life. Every January 2, the shrine comes alive with the Somin festival, a local tradition in which men compete for a lucky bag.
