TORIGATA ESTATE
The former Torigata residence bears witness to the history of a family of scholars and physicians active for over 400 years. Rebuilt in 1935 in a style inspired by Kyoto, without dismantling the original house, it mobilized over a thousand craftsmen over five years. Inside, Yaku cedar ceilings, a tea room and a traditional structure blend elegantly. The garden, centered around a pond and structured according to Kyoto landscape principles, reflects Akita's refined aesthetic. A peaceful place to discover as the seasons change.
