Along National Route 341, the Tamagawa and Yoroihata dams shape lakes Hōsenko and Shūsenko, with deep blue waters fed by the Tamagawa Onsen springs. Between May and mid-June, when the snow melts and the water level drops in anticipation of summer flooding, a rare phenomenon occurs: sunken forests reappear on the surface. The contrast between submerged trunks and verdant mountains creates a landscape as strange as it is poetic.
