In the heart of Yuzawa, the Oyasukyō Gorge reveals a spectacular landscape sculpted by the rushing waters of the Minase River. Descending some sixty meters via a staircase carved into the rock, you reach the Daifuntō, an impressive spring where scalding steam and water at nearly 100°C gush forth. This rare phenomenon, visible from the Kawarayu bridge (or up close for the more adventurous), offers a striking natural spectacle, magnified in autumn by the flaming maples and in winter by the ice stalactites.
