SANCTUAIRE UESUGI
Built on the remains of the castle, this shrine pays homage to Uesugi Kenshin, a legendary figure in the civil wars of the 15th and 16th centuries. A place steeped in history, it is reputed to bring good luck, academic success and prosperity. At the entrance, two banners float in the wind: one symbolizes Bishamonten, the protective deity worshipped by Kenshin, the other represents Fudō Myō-ō, invoked during his decisive charges. The treasure pavilion (¥700) displays rare artifacts from the Uesugi clan, including a famous helmet adorned with the character "love".
