MONT KURIKOMA
Reaching an altitude of 1,626 metres, Mount Kurikoma lies at the crossroads of Miyagi, Akita and Iwate prefectures. Easily accessible, it offers several family-friendly hiking trails. From the summit, you can admire a spectacular panorama of Mount Gassan, the Zao mountain range and, on a clear day, the sparkling reflections of the Pacific Ocean. Its natural forests, dominated by Japanese beech trees, offer hikers a breathtaking spectacle all year round, especially during the koyo season (mid-September to late October).
